Nestled on Gloucester’s rocky Atlantic coast, Hammond Castle Museum offers the most romantic setting for your special day. Say, “I do!” in the expanse of our Great Hall or embrace while perfectly framed by our iconic arches with sweeping views of Gloucester Harbor. Whether it’s an engagement proposal, elopement, traditional wedding or wedding celebration, we offer opportunities for large gatherings or smaller, more intimate events. You can rest assured knowing your guests will talk about your event for years to come!
Proposals & Engagements:
Pop the question in the luxury of a castle by the sea! Enjoy exclusive access to the picturesque grounds and interior of Hammond Castle Museum for a one hour, private proposal. Between 4 and 5pm, proposal/engagement rentals are $350 and after 5pm, rentals are $450.

Celebrate your love together with all your family and friends! Hammond Castle Museum has been the host to countless weddings over the last century. Every event is tailored to fit the couple’s unique vision of their wedding.
Hammond Castle Museum welcomes commitment ceremonies and matrimonial celebrations for all couples who wish to tailor their ceremony and celebration to fit their own unique vision of their special day.
Weddings & Receptions:
A wedding rental may include a ceremony and reception or just a reception. Guests are welcome to use a tent on our ocean-facing lawn or utilize the Great Hall for the dining and dancing portions of their celebration.
- 4 Hours Monday through Thursday: $6,000.00
- 4 Hours Friday through Sunday: $6,800.00
- 5 Hours Monday through Thursday: $7,500.00
- 5 Hours Friday through Sunday: $8,500.00
The rental fee includes 20-minute educational tours for your guests, specific pieces of furniture and décor for your use, and separate rooms for both partners throughout the event. The wedding party is welcome to arrive at 4:00 pm for pre-ceremonial photography.
A one-and-a-half-hour set up and a half-hour break down are included for your vendors and a half-hour ceremony rehearsal is offered if the wedding takes place on-site.
A $2,500.00 deposit is required to secure your desired date. Deposits are non-refundable but are transferrable to another date and are deducted from the total rental cost. The Petite Wedding:
The Petite Wedding offers the opportunity to host an intimate wedding ceremony with your closest family and friends or to elope just the two of you. You will enjoy exclusive access to the Great Hall and Courtyard, as well as the ocean-facing lawn, and gardens for your ceremony and photographs.
