Knights, Maidens & Moor: Broadway at the Castle

Join us as Hello Friends Productions brings Knights, Maidens and Moor to our Great Hall with a cabaret of Broadway songs all relating to life in a castle or to the many famous guests Hammond entertained. With two Masters of Ceremony for the evening, we’ll have you laughing and toe tapping to classics like Gershwin, Disney and more.

Tom Edmonds has been performing throughout the North Shore for over 40 years. From 1979-1988 he performed with Crossroad Company at various venues and as the in house dinner theater troupe at the Prince Restaurant in Saugus. More recently he was a member of Bova Productions which presented an annual fundraiser for MSPCC. In addition to fundraisers, Tom appeared in many dinner theater productions with Bova Productions. Some of his favorite memories have come from musical productions with community theater groups such as: Marblehead Little Theater and Nahant Peninsula Players. These memories include: Godspell, Fiddler On The Roof, My Fair Lady, Man Of La Mancha, 1776, and Young Frankenstein. Tom has also been a church soloist for many years in his hometown of Beverly.
Rebecca Kenneally has been building choirs and directing theater for over 20 years in the Boston area, and internationally in Canada and Sweden. As the Chair of the Performing Arts Department and Choral/Musical Theater Director at Endicott College in Beverly, MA, she led the chorus to victory in the television contest Sing That Thing! In 2017. In 2015, Kenneally was a chosen International Conducting Fellow to Sweden for the American Choral Directors, an honor which launched three years of exchanges with students and conductors in Stockholm. She is a frequent soloist, clinician, guest conductor, adjudicator, and coach in the US and Canada. Her theater directing credits include The Last Five Years and West Side Story. Kenneally holds degrees in voice and conducting from Northwestern University and The New England Conservatory of Music.
Kelly Murphy has worked throughout Massachusetts both onstage as a performer and off-stage as a choreographer and director. Kelly recently performed with Marblehead Little Theater as Rosie in Mamma Mia. Some of her favorite roles include Alice Beane in Titanic and Alice in Addams Family. She won an EMACT/DASH award for Best Actress for her portrayal of Gertrude McFuzz in Seussical. One of her favorite onstage roles was as a proud and honored cast member of The Burlington Players production of Radium Girls which won “Best Show” at AACT National Theater Festival in Indiana competing with theater companies from all over the country. Kelly has served as choreographer for several other groups including Wellesley Players, Concord Players, Pentucket Players, Burlington Players, En’tracte Theater and as choreographer/director for Stage 284 in Hamilton. She has also choreographed at several area schools and will be choreographing SchoolHouse Rock Jr at Beverly Middle School this winter.
Sean Murphy was last seen as the Monster in Young Frankenstein at Marblehead Little Theater. He has performed at several community theaters including Stage 284, Burlington Players, Concord Players and Wellesley Players. Some of his favorite roles include: Mal in Addams Family, Thomas Jefferson in 1776, Murdoch in Titanic, and Enjolras in Les Miserables. He was also a proud and honored cast member of The Burlington Players production of Radium Girls which won “Best Show” at AACT National Theater Festival in Indiana competing with theater companies from all over the country. When Sean is not performing, he is a professional in the field of IT.
Thomas Smoker earned a bachelor of science degree in Bible/Music Ministries from Lancaster Bible College, Lancaster, PA, as well as a graduate degree in Vocal Performance from The Boston Conservatory. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Voice at Berklee College of Music, as well as an adjunct faculty member in the performing arts department at Endicott College, where he directs the Constellation Interfaith Music Ensemble and teaches performing arts classes. Thomas has over 15 years of experience in teaching, coaching, directing, leading workshops and symposiums, and is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), the A cappella Educators Association (AEA), as well as the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA). Previously, Thomas was the Vocal Music Teacher at the Pingree School. He regularly music directs, composes and arranges for collegiate, community and high school musicals, concerts and special events. Thomas also maintains a healthy performance career in opera, oratorio, musical theater, and solo concerts as he is often sought after throughout New England and Mid- Atlantic, and has even gotten to sing back up for Josh Groban at the TD Garden and Tanglewood.
