Music at the Museum

July 7, 2019 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

$10.00 – $15.00

Enjoy a day of music at the Hammond Castle Museum!

This summer, visitors will have the unique opportunity to not only visit the castle, but to enjoy a Sunday afternoon filled with music. In a nod to John Hammond’s love of music, we have invited three local performance groups to spend the afternoon filling the halls and grounds with melodies for visitors to enjoy during their self-guided castle tours.

Hammond Castle Museum has the pleasure of bringing these amazing three groups to our grounds: Myschyffe Managed, The Penniless Jacks, and the Ladies of Integrity, Aristocracy, Repute, and Society

Tickets are now available $15 per person

About Myschyffe Managed:

Myschyffe Managed is a New Hampshire-based a cappella group specializing in medieval and renaissance madrigals. While that may be their specialty, they certainly do not limit themselves. In a single set, you may hear songs of old from composers such as Thomas Morley, John Dowland, and Tomas Luis de Victoria, as well as songs of “not so old” from artists such as Sting, Freddie Mercury, and John Lennon & Paul McCartney. They also can never quite manage a set without a little “myschyffe” so you’ll likely also hear at least one song from musical satirist PDQ Bach, or perhaps a sea shanty about a mermaid … as Lord Fafnir likes to say, they can go from “the ridiculous to the sublime.” Or vice versa.  They perform at local renaissance fairs, themed events/festivals, and holiday strolls.

About The Penniless Jacks

The Penniless Jacks are charismatic purveyors of pub music. Whether it be centuries-old shanties, boisterous drinking songs, rousing rebel tunes, or ballads of love, The Penniless Jacks will have you singing, clapping, and stamping along to their unique sound and energy. The cast of this motley crew is comprised of a small group of veteran performers who are also long time friends. Each member has been a part of other various music and performance groups throughout New England and excel, not only with music and stage performance, but also as characters when off stage, with the art of improvisational acting.

About Ladies of Integrity, Aristocracy, Repute, and Society

Founded in 2012, The L.I.A.R.S. are a performance troupe of 3-5 lovely ladies based out of central Massachusetts. They’re sultry songstresses who blend pretty harmonies, wry wit, and an unabashed love of terrible puns into amusing and upbeat musical stage shows. The Ladies of Integrity, Aristocracy, Repute, and Society, or L.I.A.R.S., are a troupe of reformed wenches with delusions of standing. Our troupe is capable of offering stage shows- a combination of comedic storytelling, traditional folk music & sea shanties.

We hope to see you on July 7!
