The museum will be open daily for self guided tours beginning Saturday, December 7th through Friday, December 20th from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Last tickets will be sold at 2:30 pm. (Please note exception: the museum will be closed on Sunday, December 15th for a special event!)
We kick off the season with our craft fair and self guided tours beginning on December 7th and continue to Fa La La La right through to Christmas Week with a Marion Rayner art show in the Museum Shop, a play by the Gloucester High School Theatre Department, Madrigals by Myschyffe Managed, 2 nights of holiday concerts with Chelsea Berry, and even a visit or two by the man himself, Santa Claus!
We are also currently inviting organizations and businesses to participate in our Deck The Halls and decorate a room and trim the tree! For more information, please call 978-283-2080.

We are partnering with local businesses and community groups to sponsor a room in the museum, deck it’s halls and trim the tree. Guests can vote for their favorite room and a winner will be crowned at the end of the season. Holiday Craft Fair, Saturday, December 7th
What better way to do all your holiday shopping than in a seaside castle offering local crafts? On December 7th, from 10 am to 2 pm, we will be hosting a craft fair in the Great Hall. Our vendors include: Abram and Olivia Burton, Nicole M Dahlmer Arts & Photos, Pure Pastry, Selkie Handknits, Whitecap Creations, Victory Designs, Lisa Bowers Soaps and Fragrances, Art Nook Gallery, Style Street Boutique, Ardizzoni Photography, Ma & Pa’s Pickles, Your Welcome Home Artistry-by-the Sea, SeaTales Publishing, Finabella & Cape Ann Fabrics, and Love Home Wreaths. Ticket are: $15 Adults, $12 Seniors, and $10 Children. Off-site parking will be provided! Please park at Stage Fort Park in Gloucester. GHS Theatre Program Holiday Performance: It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play, Sunday, December 8th
We are excited to welcome the Gloucester High School Theater Program’s holiday performance of “It’s A Wonderful Life: A Live Radio Play.” Based on the classic holiday movie with a clever twist thrown in, the story is staged as a live radio broadcast. Actors portray numerous characters and sound effects are created through Foley tricks. There will also be a special presentation about Hammond’s work on radio technology and his original radio patents will be available for the students to learn more about the invention process. Meet The Artist Night: Marion Rayner, Monday, December 9th
Marion Rayner is an experienced watercolor artist who’s inspiration comes from the natural beauty that surrounds Cape Ann. She is particularly fond of the landscapes, seascapes and scenes around her home. The opening reception will be from 5:30 to 7:30 pm and Rayner’s show will be available for purchase in our Museum Shop throughout the month during the museum’s regular hours. -Sold Out- Santa Claus is Coming to Hammond Castle
We will host 120 children over the course of two days. Each child will be given a new, wrapped gift from Santa, enjoy snacks, crafts and sing-alongs with Santa’s Elves, played by members of the Ice Queen Cosplay Princess Parties. The programs will conclude with Gloucester Mayor Sefatia Romeo Theken reading “Twas The Night Before Christmas.” These programs are generously sponsored by Cape Ann Savings Bank with contributions by Market Basket and Schylling Inc.
Myschyffe Managed: Medieval & Renaissance Madrigals, Saturday, December 14th
Myschyffe Managed sets the perfect holiday ambiance for exploring the castle while madrigals fill the air with holiday cheer. Performances times are: 10:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. to 1:15 p.m., and 2:15 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Adults are $20, Children are $10 and include self guided tours of the museum.
